Puppetry is about making the impossible possible.

It is a magic world that stimulates the imagination and encourages creativity.

It is an ancient art form that is continually reinventing itself, never losing its power to connect us to what is essential in the joy and drama of life.

The Sydney Puppet Theatre has toured widely around Australia and overseas. Primarily we create and perform what we call "Theatre of Delight" for the family audience.

The company also creates works for adults either in theatres or for cabaret or parlour.

We recently created  new short work titled "The Right and Left of Art" for the first Sydney Puppet Slam at the Delmar Gallery in Ashfield. It got a great response.

(The Sydney Puppet Theatre is not available for children's birthday parties in private homes).

from Anne Gault, Librarian, Grenfell NSW

"Sue and Steve were very skilled and professional in their
performances and I was particularly impressed by Sue's ability to engage
with the children.

I highly recommend the puppet-making workshop. Here, nineteen
children ranging in age from 3 (she sneaked in with her brothers) to 14 were
totally engrossed in the activity and were so proud of their creations.
Instructions were clear, all materials provided and the structure provided
for Steve to 'tidy up' while the children enjoyed a final 'show and tell'
under Sue's guidance. The children are still talking about their puppets.

Power Puppets

extract from review by Jess McLean for Sydney Weekend Notes

"Witty puppets and rocking tunes combine to make a very watchable show. Small one was enthralled the entire half hour, only breaking concentration to see if the boy sitting next to him was enjoying it as much as he was.

The Sydney Puppet Theatre ably executed the art of entertaining a room full of small children last Sunday in their Power Puppets Show."
